It's the final countdown!

FCAT is just days away. All we can do now is rest, relax, and pray. All of you have the knowledge to achieve greatness. We have worked very hard so I hope you take pride in your work and in yourself to do your absolute best. It's in your hands now. If you have a positive "I can" attitude then "You Will!"

We are currently studying Solids (3-D shapes)and perspectives. We are also practicing 2digit x 2digit multiplication and algebraic expressions.

Here are some examples to practice at home. Feel free to make up your own. :)

For example: 24 x 18

n=8
3n + 6 or (5 x n)- 10

New Math Unit: Size, Shape, and Symmetry

We are switching gears from using number sense to studying geometry. We will be measuring objects, classifying angles, finding area and perimeter, and studying 2D & 3D shapes.

Geometry is everywhere! See what you and your child can discover and explore while your out or around the house. Have fun learning! :)

Fraction Test on Wed. 1/19/11. The test will cover: creating and identifying equivalent fractions, identifying and estimating fractions, and simplifying fractions.
